1) untar the gz file to obtain the files which are used for installation.
2) Run the executable file as ./installFMS -platformWarnOnly in the extracted file.
3) Got an error display asking for libstdc++.so.5
4) Finally got a resolution to this from a forum which said to run the yum install as below:
yum install libstdc++ libstdc++-devel openssl openssl-devel openssl097a
5) I had to run an extra yum install because i still got the same error. I ran:
yum install libstdc++.so.5
6) Now again ran the ./installFMS -platformWarnOnly in the extracted directory to successfully install FMS on CentOS 5.

PS: Installation will ask for few details, in that remember to note down the password as it will not be displayed in the end.
